former Chair of Maclean Hunter Publishing Limited

James is a self-employed media executive who was the one-time publisher of The Financial Post and Maclean’s magazine, President of Maclean Hunter Publishing Company and ex-president of the Canadian Club of Toronto. He is a Toronto resident who cares about the city and our country and wishes to devote time to their future health.

Michael de Pencier

Michael is Chairman of Key Publishers Company Ltd, a media company evolving into a green enterprise facilitator and investment firm, and a Director of Investeco Capital, Canada's first environmental investing company. He is a past Chair of World Wildlife Fund Canada, past Director of WWF-International and Women’s College Hospital, and is a former trustee of the Royal Botanical Gardens and former Chair of the Ontario College of Art and Design. Michael has been honoured with the Order of Ontario and the Order of Canada, and with his family has planted 40,000 trees at their property near Rosemont, Ontario.

David Love
Executive Director, The Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto

David has been raising money for conservation for nearly 40 years. He remains a pioneer in applying donor-based principles to fundraising for the environment. Currently, The Foundation raises money to support the projects of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Before joining the Conservation Foundation, David worked for Stephen Thomas, Canada’s premier fundraising company, and spent 20 years at World Wildlife Fund Canada where he oversaw all fundraising and communication activities.

Rosemary Speirs
Former journalist

Rosemary is a former newspaper columnist and feature writer for Toronto Star and Globe and Mail. Rosemary has served 10 years on the Board of Directors of Ontario Nature, including two years as President of the Board. She is a life member Pickering Field Naturalists and member Toronto Field Naturalists, and the founding chair of Equal Voice, a national organization for the election of more women to political office, for which she received a Governor-General's award for service to Canadian women.

Janet McCausland
Principal, Get It Done Communications

Get It Done Communications offers strategic communications services to businesses that are moving towards sustainability. Janet’s background includes developing programs such as the Green Toronto Awards and the Natural Burial Association, as well as the launch of several products for corporate and non-profit clients.

Kim Bilous
Communications and Development Consultant

Kim is a life-long environmental advocate. She recently left World Wildlife Fund Canada, having spent 20 years successfully raising funds and advancing a variety of pressing conservation causes. She is currently engaged in various charitable and eco-entrepreneurial initiatives, and continues to serve on Boards and Committees, including the Trinity College Environment Committee at the University of Toronto.
